I got the full experience of going up the train on Thursday and then driving up through the mountains on Friday through I-70. I don’t know if it’s because I grew up on the prairie but something about the mountains puts me at peace. Just an extreme and raw display of terrain that both awes and feeds the soul. I don’t think the photos I took could capture how I felt in that moment but I grabbed a few on the road.

The second day snowboarding went way better than expected! Blue skies, clear runs, and my legs were holding out 😂. I’m glad I started strength training and conditioning leading up to this. We hit Panorama and went to the top of the mountain this day reaching a peak altitude of 12,133 ft. I also broke my top speed record this day hitting 33.4 mph! Trust me the adrenaline really gets you through it. It’s not that spooky… ok maybe a little spooky. Take a look below to check out my key stats for the day that I track with the app Slopes. Luke filmed a video following me on his skis so keep an eye out for that post!

Ended the day with Dinner and a movie. We watched Money Ball starring Brad Pitt. My first time seeing this film and thought it was a good watch. I don’t follow MLB so it was interesting not already knowing the outcome for the Oakland A’s.

Peak elevation of just over 12k ft. Over my right hand shoulder is the bear claw, known for it’s mountain/snow formation looking like a bear swiped it’s claws over the mountain. 🐻 Cinnamon sugar waffle from the Waffle Cabin on our way out 😋
